Debbie Rowe, the presumed biological mother of Michael Jackson’s two oldest children — Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11 — will seek custody of her children with the pop star, she tells Los Angeles TV station NBC 4.

“I am stepping up,” she told the station on Thursday. “I have to.”

In his 2002 will, Michael Jackson designated his mother, Katherine Jackson, as the guardian of his three children (including youngest son Prince Michael 11 — also known as “Blanket” — whose biological mother is unknown).

Rowe, who was married to Jackson in 1996 and filed for divorce three years later, says her current visitation agreement with the Jacksons does not allow her enough access to the kids.

She’s launching a full-scale custody battle against the Jackson family.

“We had an agreement…he didn’t keep his end,” Rowe told NBC 4 about a custody arrangement with Jackson. “It hasn’t been easy. It’s been painful.”

All three of Michael Jackson’s children have been in the care of his mother, Katherine, since the pop star’s death last week.

Just two days before Michael Jackson died, the king of pop rehearsed for his upcoming London tour at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

In this video recorded by concert promoter AEG, Michael sings and dances to “They Don’t Care About Us,” along with eight male back-up dancers.

After much back-and-forth within the Jackson camp, the Staples Center has reportedly been chosen as the site for Michael Jackson’s funeral on Tuesday.
