After a riveting eight seasons, it seems that FOX hit, 24, may be a ticking time bomb, headed for cancellation.
Although the network is declining to comment on the end of the series, Variety reports that a cancellation announcement may be coming in the next few days.
24 helped bring FOX to the No. 1 spot amongst adults in the 18-49 demo throughout the 2000′s, but recently the show has taken a dip in ratings.
The studio is said to be shopping around the thriller to other networks, but thanks to hefty production cost, the show may not get picked up.
But die-hard Jack Bauer fans, who have seen the CTU agent outlive terrorist attacks, gunshot wounds to the head and chemical poisoning need not to worry.
24 execs and its’ star, Kiefer Sutherland, are in talks of turning the small-screen hit into a feature film, and have made significant headway over the last several months.
