The Real Housewives of New York will definitely be a little less gaudy, now that one of NYC’s most materialistic couples may not have made the cut for season 4.
Alex McCord and her Speedo-lovin’, butchered-French-talkin’ hubby, Simon van Kempen, will not be returning for the next season of the hit Bravo reality show, the New York Daily News reports.
“Viewers don’t have a positive reaction to them, so they’re easily replaceable at this point,” a source tells the Daily News. A rep for Bravo adds that “no details have been released about next season.”
“[They] don’t really fit in with the other wives,” the insider added of Simon and Alex. “All of the other women’s story lines have interwoven, yet Alex and Simon have kept theirs separate. It isn’t nearly as interesting as the other Housewives’.”
From the rumblings off the set of season 3, it seems Alex and Simon may not be leaving on the best of terms with the other housewives, either.
“In the upcoming season, Alex picks a lot of fights, and it looks like it’s an attempt to keep her story line relevant,” the source says.
Season 3 of The Real Housewives of New York City premieres March 4.
