The women are taking over for this years MTV Video Music Awards.
Leading the pack for the most nominations in 2009 are Beyoncé and Lady Gaga who are tied for a whopping nine nominations each, People magazine confirms.
Both women are up for female video of the year, and video of the year.
“I’m excited and honored to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs,” Beyoncé told the mag.
“I’ve been blessed this year to have ‘Single Ladies’ become a video people really connected with and responded to. I’ve spent so much time watching all the great versions people created all around the world. It’s beautiful to feel you touch people and bring a song to life with a video.”
Britney Spears didn’t come up too shabby either, earning a total of seven nods.
The VMA Awards air Sept. 13., with Russell Brand returning as the host.
