A day after the shocking death of Brittany Murphy, her husband Simon Monjack is speaking out.
“My world was destroyed yesterday,” the 39-year-old British photographer told Access Hollywood Monday.
“I loved what Ashton [Kutcher] wrote on Twitter. It was comforting to me,” he said of his wife’s ex-boyfriend. “I couldn’t have said it better.” After hearing of Murphy’s death on Sunday, Kutcher tweeted, “2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine.”
As for rumors about what happened the day of Murphy’s death, Monjack describes Sunday morning as a “regular day.”
“[Her mother] Sharon went into the bathroom because she had been in there a long time. Her mom screamed for me and I ran. Then called 911,” he told Access.
“She had laryngitis. She had been tired at the end of the year,” he added of reports she was suffering from flu-like symptoms.
An autopsy of Murphy’s body was completed on Monday, but the full results and cause of death will not be released until an additional toxicology report is performed.
According to reports, several empty bottles of prescription medications belonging to Murphy were found on her nightstand and included anti-anxiety, depression and heart-attack prevention pills.
