David Arquette has called it quits with girlfriend Christina McLarty.

““Sadly I’m single again,” he wrote on Twitter, adding, “A long distance relationship proved to be too difficult.”

McLarty, an Entertainment Tonight reporter, is based out of New York, while Arquette is stationed in Los Angeles. The couple started dating last summer, less than a year after his very public split from Courteney Cox in 2010.

Cox, on the other hand,  recently told Howard Stern that she has not had sex in over a year since the split.

“I’ve not had a man since David. I’ve made out with one guy,” she said. “I’m really not ready. It’s hard.”
