When he performed Lady Gaga’s hit, “Paparazzi” at his school’s Sixth Grade Festival, 12-year-old Greyson Chance probably didn’t think anyone would take notice, but now over 8 million people have, including Ellen DeGeneres!

On Thursday, Greyson told Ellen he’s “never taken a voice lesson,” and although he wowed his school with Lady Gaga he usually writes his own music. “I write my songs for meaning. I either live them or feel them.”

That doesn’t mean the Oklahoma-native doesn’t love Gaga. “She’s probably my number one inspiration. I love her individuality.”

While Chance may be this week’s YouTube sensation, he got a taste of stardom when Lady Gaga phoned into Ellen to wish him a congratulations!
