The ladies are leading the pack for the 2010 Grammy nominations, which were announced Wednesday night during a live concert event in Los Angeles.
Beyoncé has earned a whopping 10 nods, including album of the year for her double disc CD, I Am…Sasha Fierce, and song of the year for her two mega-hits, “Single Ladies,” and “Halo.”
Coming in right behind Beyoncé is none other than Taylor Swift. Although the 19-year-old has yet to earn her first Grammy, with an incredible 8 nominations, this may just be the teen queen’s year.
Swift’s second CD, Fearless, has been nominated for album of the year, while she was also recognized in both the song and record of the year categories.
“I started freaking out and jumping up and down,” Swift told the AP after the announcement. “I honestly never would have predicted this, eight nominations – I’m ecstatic, and blown away and so, so thankful.”
Not to be forgotten is Lady Gaga, who despite being shut out of the best new artist category earned 5 nominations including song, album and record of the year.
The Grammy’s will air January 31 on CBS.
