What better reason for Madonna and Guy Ritchie to play nice than their kids?

While the pair aren’t getting back together — as some sources speculated after the pop star and her ex were spotted leaving her New York apartment on Tuesday — the two are at least acting civil.

“They’re working very hard to have an amicable divorce, because [Madonna’s daughter] Lourdes came to them begging, ‘Please don’t be mean to each other.’ Then she told them she wanted everything to be as friendly as possible,” a source tells the New York Daily News.

And it looks like 14-year-old Lourdes’ wishes may have come true.

“Madge and Guy are getting along better than they have in over a year. Their separation has had a positive effect on their relationship as parents,” an insider added.

As for the pair’s recent NYC reunion, it turns out Ritchie was just paying a visit to his kids Rocco and David while in town filming Sherlock Holmes.
