Gerard Butler, Sofia Vergara, Woody Harrelson and Rashida Jones announced the 2012 Golden Globe nominees early Thursday morning, and there were a few snubs and surprises!

Who got snubbed? Melissa McCarthy did not receive a nomination for her hilarious role in Bridesmaids, Steven Spielberg was forgotten for Best Director of War Horse, Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks were both left out for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and Angelina Jolie didn’t score a best director nom for In the Land of Blood and Honey (although the film did receive a nod for Best Foreign Language Film).

As for surprises, Jonah Hill’s nomination for Best Supporting Actor in Moneyball,  and Rooney Mara’s nom for Best Actress for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The Golden Globes air Sunday, January 15, 2012 on NBC, and once again Ricky Gervais serves as the host.

It’s a Hollywood baby boom!

Jessica Alba welcomes daughter Haven Garner Warren, Tina Fey gives birth to Penelope Athena, and Hilary Duff announces she and husband Mike Comrie are expecting.

Happy 41st birthday, Tina Fey! Whether she’s rocking her signature specs and denim or red-carpet couture, we’re always fans of the 30 Rock star.

Or so we thought, until @nbcsnl removed a revealing tweet.

After a follower of Saturday Night Live‘s Twitter feed tweeted at the show, “I didn’t realize that @nbcsnl isn’t back until May 7th!!! What am I going to do!? Is Tina Fey the season finale!? #SNL #aaahhhh,” SNL responded “Nope! We have Timberlake after that!”

Since then, the the tweet seems to be gone, but we’d bet The Huffington Post has it right.  Tina Fey is no easy act to follow, and JT is always a hit-making host on SNL.

Tina Fey hosts on May 21, and JT is presumably scheduled for May 28.

Are there wedding bells in Liz Lemon’s future?

By the looks of a new promo shot, Tina Fey’s alter-ego may have finally met her match.

Matt Damon guest-stars (as a pilot?!) on the May 20 episode of 30 Rock, and if the title–”I Do I Do” is any indication, Liz just might be tying the knot!

All that’s revealed in an episode description by NBC is that Liz questions fate after meeting “the man of her dreams.”
