Elton John gets catty about competing against Madonna in the Best Original Song category, plus his hubby David Furnish bashes Madge too!

Saturday Night Live has announced its upcoming hosts for April, and it looks like Betty White may have paved the way for seniors on late night!

Elton John will be hosting the show for the first time on April 2nd, joining Leon Russell as the musical guest.

Helen Mirren is making her SNL debut on April 9th as host, with the Foo Fighters as the musical guest.

Can’t wait to see them in action!

Miley Cyrus, who’s often the butt of the jokes on SNL, will host the show herself on March 5, People confirms.

We’re hoping to see her get in on the joke.

Other hosts reported to be scheduled for upcoming shows are Justin Timberlake with Lady Gaga as musical guest, Elton John, Zach Galifianakis and Helen Mirren.

In Elton John’s new interview with Rolling Stone, the singer talks about his tourmate and close friend, Billy Joel,  claiming the piano man should buckle down when it comes to rehab.

“He’s going to hate me for this, but every time he goes to rehab they’ve been light,” John says.

“When I went to rehab, I had to clean the floors. He goes to rehab where they have TVs. I love you, Billy, and this is tough love. Billy, you have your demons and you’re not going to get rid of them at rehab light. You’ve got to be serious. People adore you, they love you and respect you. You should be able to do something better than what you’re doing now.”

In response, Joel released a statement, brushing off the accusations while also forgiving his friend.

Elton appeared on the Today show Thursday morning saying, “He hates me at the moment. He sent me a message and he’s not happy. I understand that… I’m sorry I had to say it, but I’m saying it because I really want Billy to live a long life and be very happy. That’s all it came from. I understand why he’s mad at me. I’m only trying to help. Maybe I should have done it privately, but I’ve been so frustrated over the years.”

He also said that Joel “may want to punch him in the face in a moment,” then added, “but that’s okay.”

Tough love, indeed.

Congratulations to Sir Elton John and his husband, film producer David Furnish, who welcomed baby Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John on Christmas day!

The pop legend tells Us Weekly he was “awestruck” the first time he held baby Zachary. Furnish adds that the baby “loves to be…sung to.”

He’d better love it!

Zachary is also welcomed by brothers Lev, 2, and Artyom, 4.
