Queen Latifah has been tapped to help reenact the vice presidential debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live.

SNL has lined up the singer/actress for a spoof of the VP, as first reported by EW.com.

Queen Latifah will be on hand to play PBS moderator Gwen Ifill. The debate sketch isn’t a sure thing, an insider tells the website, but if it’s a go, Latifah is the woman for the job.

No word yet as to whether Tina Fey –who’s gotten rave reviews for her dead-on impersonation of the Republican vp candidate – will reprise her role as Sarah Palin.

Stay tuned!
