After a couple years of staying under the radar, Samantha Ronson has stepped back into the spotlight with her new alternative album, “Chasing the Reds.”

The 34-year-old DJ, known for dating Lindsay Lohan from 2008 to 2010, has just released her new album and the lyrics, like her partnership with Lohan, speak of a toxic relationship.

In the song “Sometimes When You Win, You Lose,” she sings “I just wanted to find some peace with you.  You needed the noise as proof.  And we started this war on the same side.  Now I feel just like a hostage in the room.  But I’m trying to find a way out alive.”

In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Samantha said, “Maybe they’d be right, maybe they’d be wrong,” when asked about the lyrics’ connection to Lindsay Lohan.

Additionally, she stated, “I wrote that song when I was with the person that it’s about.  They knew what it was about when I wrote it.”

However, Samantha did say that the relationship referenced was “not a healthy relationship.” The songs were written a couple years ago, but the DJ chose not to release the album during a time when her life was so public.

The celebrity DJ was pulled over for going 89 in a 70 and busted for driving under the influence.

Earlier today, Samantha Ronson tweeted a pic (above) of her face looking bruised and battered, writing, “Let this be a lesson… if you have a driver’s license you probably don’t need to be on a bmx bike.”

Reports swirled online that Sam had been hit by a car, but the DJ joked with CelebTV that she was trying to re-enact the music video for her brother’s “Bike Song.” Then she fessed up that she actually just had a plain ol’ bike crash.

Just one day after Samantha Ronson’s bulldog, Cadillac, killed another dog, the DJ has taken to her Twitter page to express her apologies and sadness.

“There is absolutely nothing I can say that will alter one minute of today, nothing,” she wrote. “I feel incredibly sad and wish I could offer more than condolences, unfortunately there are no words to describe how sorry I am.”

Sam was reportedly sleeping on Monday morning, when one of her friends let Cadillac out into her building’s hallway, TMZ reports. The bulldog attacked a 3 lb. Maltese who was also in the hallway without a leash.

Ronson has since sent Cadillac to the East Coast to live with another family.
