American Idol stars Kris Allen and Adam Lambert perform on the Today show and address rumors about the AT&T voting scandal.
Kris Allen makes the TV rounds with Regis and Kelly and Ellen DeGeneres to perform and talk about his Idol victory.
It’s the battle of the American Idol runner-ups.
Just one day after slamming Adam Lambert for his “frightening” and “ear bleeding” performances, Clay Aiken is now apologizing.
Although some of the notes Lambert is able to hit may be able to break glass, Aiken is now saying his hurtful words against his fellow Idol alum were only meant as a “colorful statement” to imply he did not like what he heard.
Taking to his blog Clay wrote, “I hope no one actually believed that blood truly poured forth from my ears when I heard him. God knows, I am SURE there are PLENTY of people who can’t stand to hear me sing either. I wouldn’t dream of assuming that, and I am sure that far worse things have been said about my performances than I would even venture to type here.”
“He does what he does, because he enjoys it, and he obviously has many fans who enjoy it as well. If what I said in my previous blog regarding my impression of a single performance from Adam upset or offended any of his fans, I expect that the mature ones will realize that it was simply a poorly worded metaphor describing my personal tastes.”
Clay, who lost to Ruben Studdard during Season 2 of AI added, “As an entertainer, Adam knows that one person’s opinion of one performance really matters a little less than zero, in the grand scheme of things. He could not have gotten on Idol (nor made it as far as he did) without an immense amount of talent. He surely doesn’t need my approval to know he has a gift.”
“So, I do apologize to Adam for my colorful (and negative) choice of words. I hope he can forgive me. I imagine he doesn’t give a d—! God knows he shouldn’t.”
Ever wonder what Adam Lambert was up to before becoming one of America’s hottest singing sensations?
The American Idol runner-up may not have walked away with the crown, but even before the competition began, Lambert was definitely rockin’ out.

We bet the rocker had a pretty easy time letting go of that ‘do, though.
In one of the biggest upsets in eight seasons of American Idol, underdog Kris Allen beat out expected champ, Adam Lambert, during Wednesday night’s finale.
A record breaking 100 million votes determined that 23-year-old Arkansas native, Kris, was the winner, to which even he was stunned.
“Adam deserves this. I’m sorry, I don’t even know what to feel right now. This is crazy,” he said upon hearing his name announced as the new Idol.
Heading into the finale episode rocker Adam Lambert,27, was the clear front-runner, even being proclaimed a “worldwide star” by judge Simon Cowell.
The two-hour finale also included memorable performances from all 13 finalists, as well as guest-appearances from the Black Eyed Peas, Kiss, Keith Urban and Cyndi Lauper.

Carrie Underwood will return to the American Idol stage for the second time this season to perform in the show’s finale.
A rep for Underwood confirmed the former Idol winner and country star will be hitting the stage to sing this year’s farewell song, “Home Sweet Home,” which is her version of an ’85 Motley Cruë ballad.
Back in March, Carrie hit the AI stage to join Randy Travis in a duet of his song, “I Told You So.”
Underwood’s will perform on Wednesday, the second night in the two-part finale, where Idol hopefuls Kris Allen and Adam Lambert will sing their swan songs.
Just a few days ago, Paula Abdul was quoted in a new Ladies’ Home Journal interview talking about her addiction to prescription painkillers and a recent stint in rehab.
Now, the American Idol judge is blasting the article as false, insisting her quotes were “taken out of context.” (Oh, and that rehab visit, by the way? Just a spa trip, Paula says.)
American Idol Judge Paula Abdul tells Ladies’ Home Journal she went to rehab last fall to kick her addiction to pain medication.
