More details have come in regarding the death of aspiring singer Leslie Carter after her apparent drug overdose.
Us Weekly reports her stepmother, Ginger Carter, called 911 from her upstate New York home after Leslie was found “asleep on her bed and not breathing.”
Leslie’s father Robert performed CPR before paramedics arrived and then transported her to Westfield Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Us states that “authorities reported that prescription drugs Olanzapine, Cyclobensaprine and Alprazolam — which treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and anxiety — were discovered near Leslie’s body.”
Ginger later told police in an interview that her step-daughter seemed sick and depressed and had fallen asleep in the shower when she was moved to a bed. She was later found still unconscious.
Leslie is survived by her 10-month-old daughter Alyssa and husband Mike. A full investigation into her death is underway, including an autopsy.
