Russell Brand To Host the 2012 MTV Movie Awards
Russell Brand is back for MTV.
The comedian was announced as the host of the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.
“This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than The Avengers, and you won’t have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out,” Russell said.
The Get Him To the Greek actor hosted the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 and 2009, but this is his first time hosting the Movie Awards.
Executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic called Brand “such a brilliant talent,” adding, “He brings the funny but he also has that rock `n’ roll aesthetic.”

It’s a girl power year! Bridesmaids and The Hunger Games lead the 2012 MTV Movie Awards nominations with 8 each!
The ensemble wedding comedy is up for Movie of the Year, Best Female Performance for Kristen Wiig and Breakthrough Performance for Melissa McCarthy, among others.
The dystopian future drama is also up for Movie of the Year and Best Female Performance (this time for Jennifer Lawrence), but is also in the Best Fight category and more!
Other nominees include Emma Stone, Rooney Mara and Emma Watson for Best Female Performance, Daniel Radcliffe, Ryan Gosling and Josh Hutcherson for Best Male Performance and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow: Part 2, The Help and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 for Movie of the Year.
