If you’re gonna learn, may as well learn from the best, right?

Drummer Travis Barker has been helping Rihanna spruce up on her own drumming skills with private lessons!

“Teaching Rihanna some things on drums,” Barker tweeted on Tuesday, along with a photo of the pair at a rehearsing in L.A. “She JAMS!!!!! Watch out for her!!”

In her latest music video for “Rude Boy,” Rihanna is seen going at it on the drums.

A source says the Barbadian singer wanted a professional drummer like Travis teach her so she could perform live during her upcoming European and U.K. tour.

Next up for Rihanna?

She’ll be performing live during the Kids Choice Awards on March 27… no word if she’ll be drumming!

While the whole debacle may just be part of Cohen’s shtick, Em wasn’t too pleased with the situation-and now DJ Travis Barker is coming to his side, saying he may have done a little bit more than just walk away.

“If i was EMENIM I would’ve swung on him….not kool. I love jokes but some dudes ass in your face is a no no 4 me,” Barker wrote on his Twitter.

Perhaps Bruno should be careful of who he rear-ends next time.

Travis Barker Blogs About 7th Surgery…and Shanna Moakler

Travis Barker is reaching out to his fans, three weeks after surviving a Learjet crash that killed four people upon takeoff.

The Blink-182 drummer blogged this weekend, thanking fans for their support and paying his respects to his assistant Chris Baker and his security guard Charles Still, who both died in the Sept. 19 crash.

Barker – who suffered second- and third-degree burns – added that he’s recovering slowly but steadily, writing on his MySpace page: “Like the doctors said from the beginning, its [sic] been a slow recovery process. I am coming up on the 7th of my surgeries Monday.”

Seeing friend and fellow crash survivor DJ AM lifted his spirit, Barker wrote:

“Seeing him after he was discharged was an inspiration. I saw just how awesome the doctors’ work here is, and got to see how well he is doing. I am so happy to see him doing well, and we are both so lucky and grateful that we are alive today.”

In his new blog entry, Barker also seems to quash rumors that he and ex-wife Shanna Moakler—who have two kids together – are getting back together.

“Despite any rumors you might have heard via my EX-wife Shanna Moakler, who I have not seen since the week I checked in, I’ve been treated amazingly well, both here in LA and in Georgia. The hospitals I’ve been treated at are THE BEST.”

Next up for Barker? “[T]o get home to play drums with my son, and go for bike rides with my daughter.”

Travis Barker: “I Hate Planes”

Celebrities: Travis Barker

Travis Barker is on his way to recovering from the second- and third-degree burns he suffered during a Learjet crash in September.

But the musician says he’s not likely to heal his psychological wounds any time soon.

“I hate planes,” the former Blink-182 drummer tells Us Weekly, adding that he’s always been afraid to fly.

“My biggest fear ever is to be involved in a plane crash, so when that happened … well, I’m just thankful to be alive! I’m just grateful to be here at all.”

Barker, 32, and his friend and collaborator DJ AM were the only survivors a fiery plane crash that took place just before midnight Sept. 19 in Columbia, S.C. Two pilots and two other passengers were killed in the crash, including Barker’s assistant.

Barker was released from a Georgia hospital last week and is now being treated at a burn center in Los Angeles.

To avoid flying, Barker made the trip back home to L.A. by bus, along with his father and ex-wife Shanna Moakler.

“I am doing the best I can possibly be,” he says in the magazine’s latest issue. “I’m so anxious to get out of here. … I’ve just been in surgery after surgery. I have third-degree burns basically from my feet up to my waist and both hands. One of my hands has second-degree burns and one has third-degree burns.”

Added Barker, who has two children—Landon, 5, and Alabama, 2—with Moakler: “I’m trying to have a quick recovery and play the drums again and be able to hold my kids again.”

The tattooed musician was discharged from the hospital Monday morning, a spokesperson from the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga., told CelebTV.com Monday.

“He left in good condition,” the rep added.

Barker entered the hospital nine days ago after a tragic plane crash that left four people dead, and Travis Barker and DJ AM in critical condition.

Barker, 32, was admitted in critical condition on Sept. 20 after the plane crashed upon takeoff from the South Carolina’s Columbia Metropolitan Airport, about an hour away.

Barker is expected to return to his home in Los Angeles.

Travis Barker “Upbeat” Following Surgeries

travis310 273x300 picture Travis Barker “Upbeat” Following SurgeriesDespite several surgeries for burns over his torso and lower body, former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is trying to stay positive after a South Carolina plane crash that killed four, including two close friends, a spokesman for the star’s clothing company said Tuesday.

“If you make it out of a crash of that magnitude, somebody’s looking out for you,” said Bill Nosal, Barker’s friend and spokesman for Famous Stars and Straps, a Los Angeles-based clothing and accessory line created by the musician. “He’s trying to stay upbeat.”

Barker and celebrity disc jockey DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, survived the Friday night Learjet crash at the main airport in Columbia, S.C., with second- and third-degree burns. One of their doctors at a Georgia burn hospital said he expects them to fully recover.

Pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills, Calif., and co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, Calif., died of smoke inhalation and burns within minutes of the crash into an embankment about a quarter-mile from the end of the airport’s runway. A South Carolina coroner has said Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City, Calif.; and Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles, close friends of the musicians, died on impact.

Shanna Moakler Stays By Travis Barker’s Side

travis3101 211x300 picture Shanna Moakler Stays By Travis Barker’s SideShanna Moakler was devastated when she heard the news her ex-husband Travis Barker was in a terrible plane crash and is determined to stay by his side.

Just hours after a weekend plane crash that left Barker and fellow musician DJ AM badly burned, Moakler flew to Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, Ga., to be with the former Blink-182 drummer.

“She’s been at his bedside ever since she got there,” a source close to Moakler told People magazine. “She loves him and she’s not going to leave him.”

The source added, “It has all been very intense. [Shanna] is very emotional but also very strong.”

Moakler has two children with Barker – son Landon, 4, and daughter Alabama, 2.

Barker, 32, and Moakler, 33, starred in the MTV reality series Meet the Barkers, which chronicled their gothic wedding and the early days of their marriage. The on-again, off-again couple split in 2006. Their divorce was finalized in February 2008.

Moakler released the following statement Monday: “There are not enough words to express how thankful we are for the outpouring of love and support we have received during this very difficult time. We can only ask for prayers as we heal and mourn the loss of our dear friends who we considered part of our family. Our lives will be changed forever.”

New details have emerged that explain how Barker and DJ AM survived the crash.

“[Travis and Adam] told me that they slid down the wing on the right side of the plane,” Lieut. Josh Shumpert of the South Congaree Police Department told People magazine.

“They said they were on fire,” adds Shumpert, “and that they tackled each other and put each other out.”
