BRITNEY SPEARS’ COMEBACK
August 29, 2007 Britney Spears will debut her long-awaited studio album as soon as next week, according to EW.com. Last week, two supposed Britney tracks were leaked online, but a source insists the songs are not on the album.
''People are going to love [the new single],'' raved the source. ''It's like when Justin came back [with FutureSex/LoveSounds] -- she's got a whole new sound. She's funky.''
The single to be released is reportedly called, "Gimme More," an up-tempo club cut produced by Timbaland protégé Nate Hills. This is also the name of the video that Spears was seen shooting in July.
Another insider who has heard the single enthusiastically tells the website: ''It's a smash! She's going to come out strong. The only question is, with all the drama, are people going to want something fun or something more serious? This is a dance single.''
Recently, the singer's bitter custody fight with Kevin Federline has attracted much media attention, along with public ridicule of her child-rearing skills. A custody hearing is scheduled for September 4.
Spears' new album has no official title or release date, but a third source close to the top-secret project tells EW.com it's expected to hit shelves this fall with little to no promotional setup: ''She's got more than enough material.''
