CRACKDOWN FOR KID ROCK’S UNCLE KRACKER
August 17, 2007 Kid Rock's DJ Uncle Kracker, aka Michael Shafer, was arrested and charged with a forcible sex offense just outside of Raleigh, NC at around 4:45 a.m. on Friday. Officials did not specify the exact nature of the alleged attack.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, an off-duty officer was at the scene of the Ess Lounge when a 26 year-old female patron approached the officer and reported "[Kracker] had committed a sexual act against her while she was inside the establishment."
The Cary North Carolina police department told CelebTV.com exclusively that Shafer was eventually arrested at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Cary, NC. The Cary police were informed of the reported incident -- as they were closer to the scene -- after the Raleigh police department alerted them.
Uncle Kracker is best known for working with Kid Rock. His hits include "Follow Me" and "When the Sun Goes Down," a duet with Kenny Chesney.
Shafer is being held on a $5 million bond at the Wake County Jail. "
