“AMERICAN IDOL” DOES THE BEATLES
March 12, 2008
For the first time ever, the Beatles' songbook was made available to the 12 finalists on "American Idol" on Tuesday night and the results were mixed.
David Archuleta, who many have named the front runner, actually forget lyrics during his version of "We Can Work it Out."
"You stumbled over lyrics," judge Simon Cowell said. "At this point at the competition I expect better, this was your weakest performance so far."
Ramiele Malubay, whose racy photos CelebTV.com showed last week, sang "In My Life" dedicating it to the "Idols" who had left the show.
David Hernandez, the former stripper, performed "I Saw Her Standing There" and none of the judges were impressed.
"David, no no no, it was corny bordering on desperate," Cowell said.
Chikezie's "She's a Woman" might have stolen the show with judge Randy Jackson saying, "I loved it. Who knew? You smashed it!"
"American Idol" will air Wednesday night to vote off the first of the 12 finalists.
