ANOTHER SPEARS ASSISTANT GETS SERVED
August 15, 2007 Former Britney Spears assistant Shannon Funk is the latest member of her inner circle to be called to testify in the ongoing custody battle between the singer and her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
Tuesday night, Funk was served with a subpoena deposition by a representative for Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federline's attorney, according to OK! magazine.
Spears' friend Alli Sims and her former nanny, Daimon Shippen, were also served with legal papers by Federline's camp in recent days.
The current issue of OK! reports that Funk was served with a subpoena at 9:26 p.m. PT on August 14 at the Long Beach Airport in California, where she was returning from a trip to Manhattan with her future sister-in-law.
Funk served as Spears' assistant for three weeks, during which the singer infamously cut short her interview and cover photo shoot with OK!
According to the magazine, Funk also acted as a part-time nanny for Britney's two sons, Sean Preston, 23 months, and 11-month-old Jayden James.
"What can I do about this?" Shannon asked regarding the papers, according to OK! "Is this a big deal? But honestly I have nothing negative to say about Britney so let Kaplan go after me. I'm on Team Britney! I support her no matter what. Kevin's a bad father."
A custody hearing in the Spears-Federline case is set for Sept. 17 in Los Angeles Superior Court.
