BRAD PITT GIVES BACK ON IDOL
April 07, 2008
American Idol might have started a way to find amateur talent across the country, but seven years later, big-name celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Brad Pitt are waiting in line to be a part of the hit reality show.
At Sunday night’s second annual Idol Gives Back broadcast, Miley Cyrus, Brad Pitt, Fergie, Robin Williams, Snoop Dogg and Reese Witherspoon were among the many who took advantage of the hit show’s millions of viewers to raise money for good causes around the world.
When Pitt showed up in person after a clip of the actor in a hurricane-devastated New Orleans was played, the audience was shocked. “The crowd went wild!” one audience member told OK magazine. “The noise was deafening.”
There was a small technical glitch when Pitt’s microphone wouldn’t work, but the stage manager celebrated. She joked to the audience, “I just needed a reason to touch him.”
The father-to-be’s appearance on the Idol stage was brief, but he definitely made an impact.
“Brad actually seemed quite shy,” one audience member said.
Idol Gives Back will air on Wednesday night on Fox.
