BREAKING NEWS: SPEARS CUSTODY CASE UNDERWAY
August 14, 2007 Mark your calendar. Two important court dates in the heated custody battle between Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline were determined Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
CelebTV.com was in the courtroom as a judge set a Sept. 14 court date to hear a motion to seal all documents in the case. KNBC-TV and People magazine both filed court documents to unseal the papers.
A hearing in the actual custody case was scheduled for Sept. 17.
Since February, Federline and Spears have shared custody of their two sons, Sean Preston, 23 months, and Jayden James, 11 months, but Federline reportedly is seeking full physical custody of the boys.
As part of Federline's apparent bid for full custody, the former backup dancer's attorney has issued two subpoenas in recent days to close associates of Spears'.
A rep for Federline's attorney confirmed to CelebTV.com that Spears' former bodyguard, Daimon Shippen, was served with a deposition subpoena on Monday night. At 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Spears' friend and on-again-off-again assistant Alli Sims was dramatically served with her own papers in the custody case as she attended a private party with the singer in the Hollywood Hills.
