Could Spears be Spokesperson for Bally?
April 17, 2008
Britney Spears is getting serious about getting into shape. CelebTV.com video cameras caught the pop star heading to Bally Total Fitness to work out in Studio City, Calif., on Wednesday.
John Wildman, a spokesperson for the gym, tells CelebTV.com exclusively that the gym is working with Spears--although they haven’t cemented any official partnerships with the singer.
“We don’t have a spokesperson relationship with Britney,” says Wildman. “She is a member and has been working out with our top two trainers who are in charge of our 5000 trainers. They are exclusively working with her. The person who has designed our nutrition program has taken over her nutrition program for about three weeks. We are not in negotiations for her to be a spokesperson. Could something derive? You could speculate maybe, but that is not our intention now. We also have a fitness center we set up at her home and they work out with her there as well.”
CelebTV.com cameras caught the singer looking fit and healthy at Bally for a cardio workout on the treadmill.
On April 3, Spears’ former manager, Larry Rudolph, vouched for the singer’s fitness in an interview with Ryan Seacrest: “[Britney] is in great shape—she couldn’t be happier. This isn’t a time to talk about business with her. She needs to do her thing and get better.
“If she does everything else she’s doing right now, she’ll be in great shape. I can’t think of another situation where anyone’s been set up for a bigger comeback.”
Since her disastrous performance at the MTV VMAs in 2007, Spears has been under intense scrutiny.
On March 24, the pop star made a highly anticipated cameo appearance on the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. Her performance even impressed her co-stars on the show.
“The only thing scandalous about this is how un-scandalous it all is,” says How I Met Your Mother co-star, Josh Radnor, of Britney’s appearance on the show.
