Britney Spears Misses Court Hearing
May 29, 2008
At a hearing Thursday in Britney Spears’ ongoing conservatorship case, a lawyer for the pop star said Spears is still not capable of participating in court proceedings or discovery process, as it may prove harmful to Britney.
On May 13, a motion was filed to have Jamie Spears--Britney’s father and co-conservator of her business and personal affairs--submit a sealed declaration to the court about his daughter. On Thursday, that plan was tabled in favor of allowing Jamie Spears to submit a redacted declaration no later than June 6.
The court also asked Britney’s conservators to file business plan with the court no later that June 13.
The judge Thursday also said the doctor writing an overview of the pop star’s condition is not ready to file such a summation until he performs more texts.
Another hearing in Spears’ conservatorship case was set for June 17.
