BRITNEY SPEARS PUT ON LOCKDOWN
January 04, 2008
Britney Spears will be on a minimum 72-hour lockdown for mental evaluation, according to People magazine .
The magazine reports Spears was placed on lockdown after she locked herself in a room with her youngest son at her L.A. home Thursday night. This came after she refused to hand the boys over to ex-husband Kevin Federline's bodyguard.
A source tells the magazine it was the pop star's court-appointed child monitor who called police. "She had already put Preston in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden," said the source. "The cops came and got through the door and tied her down to a gurney."
Spears appeared briefly in court on Thursday prior to a scheduled handoff of her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline at 7 p.m. as part of her visitation rights.
"LAPD was called to the residence [Spears'] at around 8 p.m. to investigate a child custody dispute," Officer April Harding told CelebTV.com.
The pop star, who according to police appeared to be "under the influence of an unknown substance," was eventually taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
