CELEBTV.COM EXCLUSIVE: BRIT’S LAWYER REVEALS BOOKING DETAILS
October 16, 2007
In an exclusive interview, Britney Spears' lawyer Michael Flanagan gives CelebTV.com a detailed account of how and why the pop princess turned herself into the police.
"Britney had seven days to surrender herself, and yesterday was the seventh day between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.," Spears' attorney clarifies. "However, I went into the station earlier yesterday, met with the watch commander and asked him to deviate from that time period in order to avoid a media circus."
Britney Spears' attorney exclusively told CelebTV.com on October 9 that the singer would set things right following her Aug. 26 fender bender with California nurse Kim Robard-Rifkin.
"The judge ordered today in court that Britney must go to any L.A. police station for fingerprints and mug shots before Oct. 25," Michael J. Flanagan tells CelebTV.com. "She will do that, but I don't know when."
"I knew it would be quite congested if Britney showed up between the designated times of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. It was for Spears' benefit, as well as the LAPD, that Britney surrender herself at 9 p.m. They [LAPD] don't need a crowd, and there are always multiple cameras following Britney wherever she goes," Flanagan tells us.
It was rumored that Spears was having dance auditions for her upcoming tour Monday evening at the Millenium Dance Complex in Hollywood. The singer never showed up, but the dance auditions did go on.
Flanagan defends his client: "Britney was counting on showing up for her dance auditions, however, I had made these arrangements, so she agreed to go in at 9 p.m. and surrender herself."
Spears has faced a myriad of legal woes in the past few months. Spears will next appear in court on October 25.
