Country Singer Sara Evans Marries Jay Barker

Country star Sara Evans married former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker on Saturday, following a three-month engagement.

Evans, 37, wore an ivory silk taffeta Vera Wang gown for her wedding to Barker, 35, on a farm outside Nashville, People magazine reports.

The couple’s seven children from previous marriages sat nearby on quilts, according to the magazine. After the ceremony, guests cut loose dancing alongside celebrity guests including Sheryl Crowe while dining on Southern fried chicken, country-style pole beans, biscuits and macaroni and cheese. 

“It was really very elegant, but Sara wanted it to feel like you were at her house,” her friend and wedding planner tells the magazine. 

Evans and Barker began dating last fall, after the singer’s bitter split from ex-husband Craig Schelske.
