Dennis Farina Slapped with Gun Charges
June 04, 2008
Law & Order actor Dennis Farina has been charged with illegally having a gun in his luggage at Los Angeles International Airport.
The city attorney’s office on Wednesday charged the actor with three misdemeanor counts involving possession of a concealed and loaded weapon. The charges carry a combined maximum sentence of 2 1/2 years in jail and $3,000 in fines.
Farina was arrested three weeks ago when a .22-caliber handgun was found in his carry-on luggage at LAX. Farina publicly apologized at the time for his “stupidity” and told police he forgot the weapon was there.
County prosecutors declined to charge Farina with felonies and referred the case to city prosecutors.
