HOLLYWOOD REACTS TO HEATH LEDGER’S DEATH

Fellow actors reacted Tuesday night to the shocking death of Heath Ledger, 28.

"I had such great hope for him," Mel Gibson, a fellow Australian, said. "He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family."

Another Australian actor, Nicole Kidman, also expressed sympathy for Ledger's family, saying, "What a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family."

"He is one of my favorite actors," Hollywood heavyweight John Travolta added. "His abilities are rare...it's a tremendous loss."
