Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons Settle Child Support and Custody Issues
June 25, 2008
Russell Simmons and his estranged wife, Kimora Lee, have decided to settle their child custody differences outside of court, according to documents first obtained by CelebTV.com.
Papers filed Tuesday, June 24, in L.A. Superior Court show that the hip-hop mogul and his ex have decided she will get sole legal and physical custody of their two daughters, Ming Lee, 8, and Aoki Lee, 5.
Kimora Lee, 33, filed for divorce from her husband of 15 years in March.
In May, Simmons filed a petition asking for joint physical and legal custody of the girls. Under the new agreement, Simmons will get visitation with his girls for a week every eight weeks plus some holidays with them.
The new court papers stipulate that Ming Lee and Aoki Lee “shall be accompanied at all times by a nanny and security person” when they’re with their dad and that Simmons will pick up the tab for his daughters’ visitation-related travel.
The music mogul will also pay $40,000 a month in child support for both girls ($20,000 each).
Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons split in 2006.
Lee is now dating Djimon Hounsou, 44, and recently said she and the Blood Diamond actor are “kind of” engaged.
