SPEARS CHILD ABUSE PROBE: NO PHYSICAL ABUSE ALLEGED
August 28, 2007 The investigation into possible child abuse involving Britney Spears does not include allegations of physical abuse, TMZ reports.
The wesbsite broke the news Monday that Spears' attorney, Dennis Wasser, met with the singer's ex-husband Kevin Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, for an unscheduled hearing Monday at L.A. County Superior Court.
A lawyer from the L.A. County Counsel who is assigned to the dependency court was also present.
Although details of the alleged abuse were not initially known, TMZ is now reporting the complaint filed with DCFS involves allegations of "poor dental hygiene, as well as poor eating and sleeping habits for the kids."
The website adds that while DCFS does not release such filings, the complaint against Spears ended up in legal papers filed by Kevin Federline's high-profile divorce attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.
A hearing in the bitter custody fight between Spears and Federline has been scheduled for September 4.
