NBC News’ Tim Russert died Friday of a heart attack at the age of 58.

The Meet the Press host is survived by his wife Maureen Orth—a special correspondent for Vanity Fair—and their adult son, Luke.

Russert’s former colleague Tom Brokaw said Russert and Orth and their son had been on vacation in Italy when Russert returned to Washington for his Sunday show. He died suddenly, reportedly while doing voice-overs for his show.

President Bush paid tribute to the friendly newsman in a statement, saying, “He was as gregarious off the set as he was prepared on it.”

Why wasn’t it Bill O’Reilly?  The good die young.  Very sad.  I send my condolences to Tim’s family and friends.

Sad news about Mr Russert. He was far too young to loose his life like this…and then we have the likes of yawyeh, capitalizing on this tragedy, with his disgusting and offending comment! What a sick thing to say…I am betting your vote will be democratic…how very opposite of what liberal beliefs are…usually the democratic party only okay’s the death of the unborn…true colors finally are revealed…best of luck to you with…your bias and hatred are duly noted.

I was very sorry to hear about Tim.  I have learned so much from him regarding politics and his way of life.  My heart goes out to his family.  I pray for them.  He was a great man.  Down to earth, straight with no chaser.  The world will miss him.

This is such sad news to hear of Tim’s death. I thought the world of him ( I a Republican) and it is so sad that we have people on earth like yawyeh that have to make such awful comments on who he thinks it should of happened to. You, Yawyeh is what is wrong with the world today. There is no place in Heaven for you.

    May God bless Tim’s family.

He is a man that will be truly missed.

    Lori
