It looks like Christie Brinkley will get to air the dirty details of her split from fourth husband, Peter Cook, in public.
On Friday, a New York Supreme Court judge denied a motion to close the courtroom during parts of the couple’s divorce trial, new court documents show.
Both Cook and an attorney for the couple’s two children – Jack, 12, and Sailor, 9 – argued that an open trial could have “a potential negative effect” on the kids’ relationship with their dad.
But Judge Mark D. Cohen denied their motions in Friday’s ruling, saying: “The required high burden of compelling reasons to close the courtroom has not been met.”
Brinkley filed for divorce from Cook in 2006, in the midst of rumors he had an affair with his then 18-year-old assistant.
The former supermodel alleges that her ex surfed internet porn and trolled swinger sites for women, Access Hollywood reports.
When the trial begins on July 2, those allegations and other details of the couple’s split are likely to emerge.
Brinkley is reportedly still “spitting mad” at Cook and pushed for the case to be made public because she wants to humiliate her ex.
