Women of Chicago were hiding their mom jeans and tossing their blue mascara Saturday afternoon as TLC style guru Clinton Kelly took over Macy’s on State St. to give 15 lucky women a makeover and opportunity to walk the runway courtesy of his Makeover America Tour.
Clinton, partnered with Macy’s, has been touring America, giving his fashion advice to everyday women. On his Chicago stop, 15 brave makeover candidates were chosen out of 2,000 applicants submitted online because of their outlandish style habits and plain- Jane hair styles. The ladies all had one thing in common…they needed Clinton’s help!
Clinton’s makeover magic took 14 hours, including hair transformations and accessory consultations. As the women strutted down the runway, Clinton’s clear choice for the hottest fall and winter trends were on full display. One of the most versatile pieces, a fitted jacket, which can be dressed up or down hides every figure flaw. It was an obvious hit with ladies like Chicago mom Janet Carr. Clinton put her in a fitted brown leather jacket by INC and took her from a fuddy duddy mom to a hot mama on the go with kicking curves!
Another big trend on the runway were oversized accessories and fun two-toned clutches.
Clinton’s biggest fashion pet peeves that all women and even men should toss? Get rid of your athletic shoes and pitch the hoodies folks, because according to Clinton a good pair of flats and a tailored blouse can be just as comfortable-and way more stylish!
So will you be buying the hottest trends according to Clinton?
