Note to Fred Durst: Move on already!

The Limp Bizkit singer, 38, infamously bragged about hooking up with Britney Spears when the pop star was only 21.

The two worked together in 2003, when he wrote songs for Britney’s next album. The collaboration led to a fling that felt like a once-in-a-lifetime love to Durst, who told fans at the time that Spears “happens to be a person that I [wouldn't] have thought could make me feel this way.”

Spears, though, wasn’t exactly feeling the love and claimed that not only was she not dating Durst — she barely knew him.

One K-Fed, two kids and six years later, Britney has obviously moved on.

But Dunst is still rehashing the were-they-or-weren’t-they romance.

“It just became a fiasco of madness,” he tells MTV News. “[But] I always stay true to my heart and true to everything I did and my intentions, and I am in no way a liar.”

He blames any confusion about the romance on Britney, pointing to her recent downward spiral:

“I look back on it as very interesting [in terms of] how things have been sort of unraveling for her since. [But] it is what it is. I can sleep at night knowing I made decisions that I wanted to make. [Still], I’m a supporter. I was then, I guess I am now.

“Her own decisions and different things in her life, people can judge her all they want, but she has an extreme presence and when she’s giving it, it’s really good.”

Adds Durst: “I just guess at the time it was taboo for a guy like me to be associated with a gal like her.”
