First it was Gwyneth Paltrow and Billy Joel, now George Clooney is rolling out the carpet for a shindig in Barack Obama’s honor.
Last week, CelebTV.com announced stars including Alec Baldwin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Billy Joel and other well-known celebs were heading to the Hamptons August 12 for a fundraiser for the presidential hopeful.
Leave it to George Clooney to outdo the rest, he’s taking his buddies and hosting a fundraiser in Geneva, Switzerland in September.
Clooney once told CNN he was “hesitant” to campaign for anyone, calling it a “slippery slope.”
Clooney added, “I feel that at times you can harm the person that you are trying to help. I don’t want to damage anybody.”
However, it seems the Ocean’s star has had a change of heart.
The event will take place on Tuesday, September 2nd where Clooney will give a speech.
Tickets will sell for $1,000, but the dinner will be $10,000 a plate, with seats limited to 75.
Not just anybody can attend this event —contributors must have a United States passport.
