No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani rocks her signature retro style in a new photo shoot in Glamour -- and talks about motherhood, fashion and why she’s never in the tabloids.
The platinum hair, the bright red lips and the retro fashion. It’s all signature Gwen Stefani—the No Doubt front-woman dresses up Glamour Magazine.
Gwen Stefani is known for her funky style—a mix of old Hollywood glamour and California cool. Now, she tells the October issue of Glamour magazine how it all began.
“The whole Tragic Kingdom thing started with Disneyland, which I grew up near. I loved everything from Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music to Bob Marley to ska bands. A little bit English, a little bit rock.”
That’s definitely an eclectic mix. One that’s reflected in the pop-star’s own fashion lines, the high-end label L.A.M.B, and her Japanese inspired brand, Harajuku Lovers—a fashion empire that rings in about 200 million in profits annually.
So how does the platinum powerhouse manage the business, the No Doubt reunion tour and family life with hubby Gavin Rossdale and sons Kingston and Zuma.
She says, “I feel like I’m going to wake up sometime soon from this weird journey. I mean, honestly, there’s no way this happened to me!”
But it did, and she’s managed to do it all while staying out of the tabloids.
“How did I stay out of trouble? I know it’s just ‘cause my parents are so strict. I mean, I’m still scared of them.” She says, “Maybe my crazy time is coming up. Let’s see what happens.”
