EXCLUSIVE: SPEARS’ INCOME REVEALED
August 31, 2007 Documents first obtained by CelebTV.com in the ongoing custody dispute between Kevin Federline and Britney Spears reveal that while the singer's ex is flat-broke, Spears herself is raking in $737,868 a month.
In an August 27 filing on behalf of Spears, her attorney, Laura Wasser, requests a delay in the scheduled Sept. 17 custody hearing due to the number of subpoenas Federline's camp has issued in recent weeks.
"There is not enough time between now and the September 17 hearing for either party to conduct and complete their discovery," the ex parte application reads.
In recent weeks, Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has doled out subpoenas to six members of Spears' inner circle, both past and present, to compel them to testify in court.
The new court documents list those subpoenaed as:
Alli Sims (Petitioner's assistant)
Promises Treatment Center (records only)
Dr. Betty Wyman (Petitioner's designated sober companion)
Larry Rudolph (Petitioner's former business manager)
Daimon Shippen (Petitioner's former body guard)
Shannon Funk (Petitioner's former assistant)
Christine Haller (Petitioner's former nanny)
In a declaration by Kaplan included in the filing and dated August 26, he claims that Federline has "no net income" and that his monthly spousal support payments of $20,000 from Spears end in November.
Kaplan also requests a lump-sum of $50,000 from Spears to offset a reported $40,000 in legal fees incurred by Federline.
With her quarter-million-dollar-plus monthly income, Spears, he asserts, "is clearly the 'monied party' in this case."
Since February, Spears and Federline have shared custody of their two sons, Sean Preston, 23 months, and Jayden James, 11 months, but Federline reportedly is seeking full physical custody of the boys.
