Gwyneth Paltrow is ready to step back into the spotlight, complete with a new short ‘do and projects aplenty.
The 35-year-old actress cut her signature strands this spring just before the May opening of her summer blockbuster Iron Man.
“I was very, very attached to my hair. I grew it when I was pregnant. I still had hair from when my father was alive,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar in the July issue. “And then I was ready to let go of it, and so I chopped it off and … aaah!”
With the fall premiere of her TV series featuring chef Mario Batalli and a new Estee Lauder fragrance campaign on the horizon, Paltrow is looking forward to hitting the red carpet with a vengeance.
“I bought an amazing Alexander McQueen dress—black, perfect, unbelievable fit—a McQueen blazer and two sweaters, a beautiful floral Cavalli dress, a few things from the Row, and a couple of Balenciaga dresses. Four, actually, embarrassingly enough.”
The style-setter flaunted a fierce footwear collection recently at the Cannes Film Festival, including sky-high gladiator sandals.
She adds, “One of the things that I realized when I took so much time off is that you’re not just an artist because you fall into the job. It’s something within you, something that burns. It’s not a hobby, it’s a need.”
Still, the busy mom of two kids, Apple, 4 and Moses, 2, hasn’t ruled out the possibility of expanding her brood.
Even though she “wanted to through up all the time” with her two pregnancies, she tells the magazine: “I may force myself to do it one more time, because the result is so worth it.”
The July issue of Harper’s Bazaar hits newsstands June 17.
