Jennie Garth has a shocking revelation for 90210 fans: Bad boy Dylan McKay—and not former longtime boyfriend Brandon Walsh– is the father of her character’s 4-year-old son.

“It’s gone back and forth,” she told People magazine about the show’s decision to choose a babydaddy. “I think they settled on Dylan because Kelly and Dylan had such a passionate relationship in the past. Their relationship was so heated. It was kind of undeniable.”

Prior to the big reveal, Garth joked, “It could be Steve Sanders or it could be Nat from the Peach Pit.”

But fans weren’t the only ones who were trying to guess the father’s identity. “I was completely in the dark,” she told the magazine. “I didn’t even know for the first three or four episodes who the father was. And then I read it in the script, and I was like, ‘Oh, okay. I guess Dylan’s the dad, ‘Great.’”

The 36-year-old actress also shed some light on possible guest appearances, saying producers have “been trying to secure Brandon to come back on the show, or Dylan or Donna” and that “they’re trying to get little cameos from all of the original cast.”

In the meantime, only Garth and fellow 90210 Shannen Doherty (who played Brenda Walsh in the original series) have made it back to West Beverly.

And while there’s no word yet on whether Doherty will be extending her stay as the director of the school’s play, Garth has reportedly signed on for an additional five episodes.
