She was wrong for doing this! These women strip down naked to say adopt a pet! Get real! I’m with the catholic church on this and I’m not even catholic! Just like Khloe Kardashian! If you wanted to do a nake photoshoot, just do it and don’t lay it on the safety of animals! BTW! Yeah! First!!!

How could she use something as sacred as that to shoot a racy pic And those priests issues are very bad indeed but priests are only human. You act like they’re the only kind of people on earth who sexually assault children. I dont know why they became priests and of course they’re removed from their position if they commit something like that.
well they’re worried about this while it’s still minor, they need to get their concerns out. Some Christians, but not all. I’m Christian, and yeah, okay, it was done in bad taste, but it’s not that big of a deal! It’s only a big deal if we let it be. Really, this creates controversy, which gives the PETA ad attention. If you don’t acknowledge it, it doesn’t give the ad meaning.

There was a young kid who got thrown out of every school he attended until his father found him a good Catholic school where he completed his education. When he was asked why did he behave himself and how he never got expelled? His reply was when I saw what they did to that guy on the cross in the assembly hall I just knew these people were’nt joking

First off this is NOT a church official who made or came out with the statements. In fact it was a group to fight against anti-Catholicism which is mostly staffed by LAY people. I don’t understand why everytime a Catholic group comes out and say’s something everyone automatically thinks it’s coming straight from the Vatican or the the bishop’s when many time it’s groups like the Catholic league that are not connected to either. Not to mention that everyone’s automatic comments about the priest scandals when someone disagrees about something Catholic related is getting old. The scandals were horrible, but at least our church officially condmens those acts unlike some other organizations and that for every bad priest their are many good priests that take their place. The Catholic church is NOT the only organzation that has had this problem and in fact their are many other organizations where this problem is sadly more ramped.
Secondly, I don’t appreciate how CelebTv decided to take out a whole portion of what Donahue officially said. I get the newsletters of the Catholic League sent to me just for this reason, and this is the rest of what Donahue said,

The catholic church hasn’t got a leg to stand anymore with the constant child abuse allegations and the covering up they have been doing for years I don’t really see them as a force of good in this world and thats coming from a catholic. Opinion. If only she knew how much money the Catholic church makes sitting people in their venues like animals in a cage. People of leadership and power are such morons. God has given us freewill, yet through this free will sin can also occur. If I killed someone for the greater good it wouldnt matter in God’s eyes since I still killed someone. This is the same thing, immodesty is not of God, and if she had done this will modesty and held up the cross with the animals behind her.. that would have been a more powerful picture.
Well alot of old fashioned catholics state that this is wrong since their are no female angels. The reason for this is that no female angels are seen in the bible.. yet, since lower angels have the ability to come in any form, I would believe this too be wrong. Other angels like St. Michael are fixed in the form for some reason..
Yet, she was held in a time when nudity was not considered shameful and sin was not present ..In present time alot of people are being urther thrown into sin when witnessing a picture such as this.
And why would nudity be shameful? If you believe in god, then god made people to be born nude, and created the body they would have, or something like that.
Think instead about all of the horrors the Church has committed over the years: the crusades, which lasted 200 years and all the intolerance we have today and ask yourselves, how precious Christian symbolism really is today.

Yes God did make us in his image, but when sin entered the world man became ashamed. The problem with this is not her supposed motive (which I am guessing could be said to be helping animals of course), but the problem is how she is going about it. This is a blatant and inexcusable scene, and it is that way because she is being a stumbling block for those who would (easily) find her attractive in such a state, and who would lust because of how she is not dressed.
The posters are kind of slutty the cross makes it looks really cheap and stupid

There is a difference between the nudity that was portrayed to show angels in art and this nudity which is NOT art and is disgraceful since it uses a crucifix (not a cross or anyother less controversial image) to cover her body. It would not be nearly as controversial if PETA had not used a crucifix, but PETA is too classless to have any sort of respect for another’s religion.
Secondly, the constant remarks on here about the priest scandals is rediculous. It is so common now a days that if some Catholic stands up for something that other’s disagree with that we bring up the priest scandals. I know many good priests who actually live out their vocations with holiness and regard those in their care (and their bodies) as sacred. These remarks that the church promotes pedolphilia is outrageous and beyond false. Their is a difference between those who do bad things within an institution and the whole institution itself.
Why don’t some of you actually look at the Catechism, read up on some of the stuff coming out of the Vatican, and maybe try to actually meet a priest rather than pull false claims from their air? Of course though you won’t since it is much to fun to disrespect and completely take out of context my priests and religion. PETA has decided to use an offensive picture to promote their so called “cause” and you are going to bring up the priests scandald because Catholics are offended?? Michael Jackson is a near god in our society, Roman Polanski is revered, but dammnit if all those priests (good or bad and Catholics in general) don’t burn in hell.

Christianity is based on Christ’s teaching which is written on “The New Testament”.
Christ (Jesus) rejected the cruelty found in the “Old Testament” e.g “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” and teached to love your neighbor as yourself. The New Testament is the one that is mostly being studied in churches. The Old Testament is still being kept by Christianity because it evangelizes the coming of Messia (Jesus).
God loves animals, but this is a total disrespect to the catolic simbol of the cross, i think that thy did it because they totaly ingnore about the meaning of this simbol.
So what? Are you trying to say she should be completely naked? Besides, this could be as well an Orthodox cross and you don’t hear eastern catholic churches making a fuss.

The catholic church hasn’t got a leg to stand anymore with the constant child abuse allegations and the covering up they have been doing for years I don’t really see them as a force of good in this world and thats coming from a catholic. PETA likes to get it’s point across by shock value and it works. I’d back PETA all the way.

God has given us freewill, yet through this free will sin can also occur. If I killed someone for the greater good it wouldnt matter in God’s eyes since I still killed someone. This is the same thing, immodesty is not of God, and if she had done this will modesty and held up the cross with the animals behind her.. that would have been a more powerful picture.

Well alot of old fashioned catholics state that this is wrong since their are no female angels. The reason for this is that no female angels are seen in the bible.. yet, since lower angels have the ability to come in any form, I would believe this too be wrong. Other angels like St. Michael are fixed in the form for some reason..

Yes God did make us in his image, but when sin entered the world man became ashamed. The problem with this is not her supposed motive (which I am guessing could be said to be helping animals of course), but the problem is how she is going about it. This is a blatant and inexcusable scene, and it is that way because she is being a stumbling block for those who would (easily) find her attractive in such a state, and who would lust because of how she is not dressed.

And I believe the point was a guardian angel protecting animals, and if I recall, in many paintings, angels are shown nude, as well as in clothing.
Perhaps people need to stop getting so mad about things that do not affect their lifes, and then the world would be a better place.

There is a difference between the nudity that was portrayed to show angels in art and this nudity which is NOT art and is disgraceful since it uses a crucifix (not a cross or anyother less controversial image) to cover her body. It would not be nearly as controversial if PETA had not used a crucifix, but PETA is too classless to have any sort of respect for another’s religion.
Secondly, the constant remarks on here about the priest scandals is rediculous. It is so common now a days that if some Catholic stands up for something that other’s disagree with that we bring up the priest scandals. I know many good priests who actually live out their vocations with holiness and regard those in their care (and their bodies) as sacred. These remarks that the church promotes pedolphilia is outrageous and beyond false. Their is a difference between those who do bad things within an institution and the whole institution itself.
Why don’t some of you actually look at the Catechism, read up on some of the stuff coming out of the Vatican, and maybe try to actually meet a priest rather than pull false claims from their air? Of course though you won’t since it is much to fun to disrespect and completely take out of context my priests and religion. PETA has decided to use an offensive picture to promote their so called “cause” and you are going to bring up the priests scandald because Catholics are offended?? Michael Jackson is a near god in our society, Roman Polanski is revered, but dammnit if all those priests (good or bad and Catholics in general) don’t burn in hell.

Christianity is based on Christ’s teaching which is written on “The New Testament”.
Christ (Jesus) rejected the cruelty found in the “Old Testament” e.g “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” and teached to love your neighbor as yourself. The New Testament is the one that is mostly being studied in churches. The Old Testament is still being kept by Christianity because it evangelizes the coming of Messia (Jesus).
