After Joaquin Phoenix hit the stage at a Vegas nightclub, the actor shocked fans with his new rap routine.
Now, many are wondering if Joaquin’s latest gig as a hip-hop artist is all one big joke.
While sources told to Entertainment Weekly that Phoenix and brother-in-law Casey Affleck are punk’ing the media, a rep for the actor tells People magazine that’s not the case:
“I believe the transition from one career to another is never smooth. Unfortunately, Joaquin has had to make this transition in the spotlight of fame.”
Adds the rep: “He comes from a musical family and won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his portrayal of Johnny Cash. He intends to explore his musical interests despite speculative, negative or positive reactions.”
