Judi Dench Going Blind?

The Oscar winner has been diagnosed with macular degeneration, a condition that can lead to blindness, but the actress says she will “cope.”
WITH A CAREER LASTING OVER FOUR DECADES, DAME JUDI DENCH IS ONE OF THE MOST RESPECTED ACTRESSES OF OUR TIME. BUT NOW, THE 77 YEAR OLD REVEALED SHE’S BATTLING QUITE THE HEALTH SCARE.
WHILE MAKING THE ROUNDS PROMOTING HER NEW FILM, “THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL” JUDI MADE A STARTLING REVELATION--SHE’S BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH MACULAR DEGENERATION—A CONDITION THAT CAN LEAD TO BLINDNESS.
THE ACADEMY AWARD WINNER TELLS THE DAILY MIRROR, “I can't read scripts any more because of the trouble with my eyes and so somebody comes in and reads them to me, like telling me a story."
THAT’S A TOUGH FETE SEEING AS AN ACTOR’S JOB STARTS WITH THE SCRIPT. BUT JUDI ISN'T SLOWING DOWN ANYTIME SOON. SHE ADDED, “As long as there is a possibility of working, I'm not going to retire. If I retire, nothing will work any more, and it's hard enough as it is.”
BUT NOT TO WORRY, JUDI’S ALREADY UNDERGONE TREATMENT AND TELLS FANS, “This condition is something that thousands and thousands of people all over the world are having to contend with. It’s something that I have learned to cope with and adapt to –and it will not lead to blindness.”
AND DAME JUDI IS ALREADY BACK AT WORK. SHE'S SHOOTING THE LATEST INSTALLMENT OF THE JAMES BOND FRANCHISE, SKYFALL.
