Justin Timberlake has a new toy. The singer just bought the golf course where his dad taught him to play to save the green from being turned into apartments.
“They were going to auction it off and turn it into a development, so we swooped in and got it,” the singer told talk show host Jay Leno.
Timberlake, 26, admits he only “got into” the sport six years ago but fondly remembers the childhood trips with his father to Woodstock Hills Country Club in Memphis.
“My dad taught me to hit a gold ball on this course, when I was 12 years old,” JT says.
Timberlake, who has a handicap of six, hasn’t decided what to name the course, which is currently known as The Club at Big Creek.
Adds the singer, “My mom wants it to be called Timberlake Trails or something like that.”
