Lady Gaga is officially the most popular person in the Facebook universe!
The Bad Romance singer is the first to hit more than 10 million friends on the social networking site.
The previous record holder, President Barack Obama, had 9,967,630 friends, but as of 9 a.m. Eastern Time Tuesday morning, Gaga has beaten the pres!
While Lady Gaga may be the most popular living person on Facebook, she still has some stiff competition to reach the No. 1 spot for any subject.
Texas Hold ‘Em Poker, Michael Jackson, Mafia Wars, Facebook and Family Guy currently hold the top 5 most popular pages.
“Lady Gaga has seen her fan base across Facebook more than double this year and is currently the fastest growing star,” Daniel Dearlove, of the social media statistics site Famecount, tells the BBC.
“Achieving 10 million fans is a remarkable testament both to her stardom and to Facebook’s extraordinary reach.”
