Recessionistas, rejoice! Celeb designers like Lauren Conrad, Charlotte Ronson (Sam’s sis) and Kimora Lee Simmons are whipping up recession-proof styles for JCP and Kohl’s.
A-list stars are giving you a stimulus package! Hey guys, Kelli here. No joke- check out the stars who are making their designer fashions recession proof.
“The Hills” Star Lauren Conrad begged us to take her seriously as a clothing designer when she launched her high end clothing line, only available in upscale boutiques. But not everyone in the MTV generation had the cash to blow on 200 dollar jersey tops and dresses. LC’s collection was pulled from the racks last month.
Now LC’s gotten hip to the recessionista movement, teaming up with Kohl’s to produce the new, more affordable line, “LC Lauren Conrad.”
LC tells US Weekly-"It is a California chic line. It is a little more casual.”
The line hits Kohl’s stores in October with separates ranging from 20 to 60 bucks.
LC’s not the only star who’s gone recessionista fab these days.
Samantha Ronson’s twin sister, Charlotte, and Kimora Lee Simmons – who both have high-end fashion labels-are going cheap and chic with JC Penny.
Kimora launched Fabulosity, kid sister to her original collection, Baby Phat last summer. The trendy pieces cost between 30 and 100 bucks.
If rock n roll is your thing- check out Charlotte’s “I Heart Ronson” line. This one will set ya back 65 dollars max.
With clothing lines like these- anyone can be a babe on a budget!
