Everytime there’s Madonna video, the woman who sells out arenas and stadiums worldwide and has #1 albums and hits all over the world, someone brings up Gaga, Janet or Mariah. Let alone Gaga, who is the current it girl pop sensation in music, Janet and Mariah are both over. One cannot sell out a concert to save her life (now touring in small theaters) and the other only sells albums in the US. Madonna is hotter, physically and professionally than any female in music.

She makes contemporary pop music, borrows other people’s imagery and her discourse is not groundbreaking: try to defend the gay community at a time when AIDS was considered a “gay” disease, like Madonna did. After Madonna, Will&Grace, Sex&theCity, QueerAsFolk, QueerEyeForTheStraightGuy, what Gaga does is for kids.

But that’s a matter of taste, of course, and really doesn’t matter that much. Otherwise, you’re totally right. Janet’s flopped 3x in a row, and Mariah’s doing a little better, but not too much. Madonna, on the other hand, w/ almost 30 yrs in the biz behind her, still has enough hype to add the best-selling solo tour of all time to her repertoire. U’ve got 2 b special to pull that off.

  [..YouTube..] @bhindex I just recently started to discover Madonna and the lady is impressive. She has an eye for talent and knows how to surround herself with musicians who bring out her best. I suppose the perpetual Janet vs Madonna debate kept me from taking an honest listen to her, but something she put out in the nineties caught my ear and I had to dig deeper. I don’t think Madonna’s all that sexy physically, but the sophistication of (some of) music is all I require.

  [..YouTube..] @MrKharyzma Mariah’s been fat even before getting pregnant. Janet is just ugly, from head to toe (usually out of shape too). Madonna, on the other hand, is always in great shape. But you’re right, that’s a matter of taste and I don’t fing fat rolls attractive. Besides the body factor, Madonna is very charming, smart and can be sexy as hell. Those features make her even more attractive. On the other hand, if you ask Mariah or Janet to solve 1 + 1 they might end up dissapointing you. LOL.
