Madonna and ex Guy Ritchie can finally agree on something: News of their $76 million settlement is “misleading and inaccurate.”
On Monday, a rep for Madonna issued a statement saying that the pop star would be shelling out $76 million in her divorce settlement with Guy Ritchie, but it seems like there may be some confusion.
On Wednesday, the Material Girl and the British film director issued the following joint statement out of the London:
“We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest.
“A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued to AP this week.”
The couple added that the “financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement. Our primary concern, like any co-parents, is the care and well being of our children.”
Calls to Madonna’s rep for further clarification have not yet been returned.
