Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves, his girlfriend of two years, welcomed a son Monday night, his rep Alan Nierob told People magazine.
The baby – the first child for both – was born at 6:22 p.m. in L.A., weighing in at 7 lbs., 4 oz.
“A healthy baby boy was born,” McConaughey told OK! magazine. “Camila and I were side by side the entire time. We are both tired and elated, and are so happy to have created the greatest miracle in the world—Having a child and making a family. Now comes the greatest adventure—raising one, together.”
In January, the 38-year-old actor announced the couple were expecting on his website. “Camila and I made a baby together…,” he wrote. “We are stoked and wowed.”
Alves, 24, is a model and handbag designer.
